“Champ Kind” Anchorman 2
How do you get anything done on set?
Everyone is professional, everyone is there to have a good time, but also to make a good product. There were a couple of scenes that were really hard to get through, everyone was crying it was so funny. It was Ron at his petulant best. When it’s really tough you have to go to place that’s sad or tough to keep a straight face.
The Second City Chicago
That’s where I met Steve, I was in a company with Steve’s wife; Nancy and I were hired on SNL at the same time. I’ve known these people for a very long time. It’s a fun job, some of the best times of my life were in Chicago, getting up on stage. Who knew, at the time, that I was there with all these amazing people: Meyers, Farley, Horatio Sanz, Fey, Amy Poehler, Stack, Dorff, Richter. You don’t think about it when you’re there, that they’re going to be the next generation of amazing media types. You knew that there was a lot of talent, but you can’t predict who will go on to great success.
I signed with NBC to create a verity show, we’re shooting a pilot and hoping to get it on the air, hopefully we’ll get to see it next fall. It’ll be a tip of the hat to the old, and embrace everything that’s happening today. It’s an hour long show, we don’t have a name yet, we haven’t even started writing yet, we’ve had the meetings and made the agreement.
