Darth Vader Just Got Some New Hotness

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008 @ 3:02PM

Werd!

I have been a medium sized fan of “Star Wars.” The last four films really fizzled me out on sci-fi all around.  However, this costume is about the best thing to happen to Halloween since the French Maid costume.

Anyway, I would love to see you out tonight as we celebrate the new Warren Miller film, “Children of Winter.”

For tonight’s How Much is that Song in the Window I have put the new Alkaline Trio Song “Over and Out” to you for cost analysis.
Worth 55 cents.

Obama Said Knock You Out

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 @ 3:11PM

This pretty much cinches up my vote!

Today on the new show, Text What’s Next, we have the new song “That’s Not My Name” by The Tings Tings vs Depeche Mode “Enjoy the Silence” Text 1 for The Tings Tings or 2 for Depeche Mode to 79640 to vote and listen at 4 to see who won.

The Ting Tings won today.

Today’s 5 O’Clock X-Set will be guilty pleasures. You know those songs that you dont want anyone to know you like. The songs you only listen to at the gym with your headphones on.  A couple of mine are:

and I bought this movie last night...great film:

You get the idea.  Your guilty pleasures today were Chumbawamba “Tubthumping"/The Dresden Dolls “Coin Operated Boy"/Erasure “Chains of Love”.  Twisted! Really.

And finally, How Much Is That Song in the Window until I come up with a better name.  It is the show where we put a price on music.  Today we will determine the worth of the new Eagles of Death Metal’s song “Wannabe in L.A.”

By the way they are in town at the Urban Lounge (a private club for members) on November 5th. It was worth 47 cents to ya.

And that is enough blogging for me today.  Whew!

in a just world this is how t'would be...

Anyway today for “Text What’s Next” we have Keane’s “The Lovers are Losing” against Rage Against the Machine “Take the Power Back.” It is after all the last day to register to vote which you can do until 5pm today at the government center on 2100 S and State Street, south building, room 1100.  I did it last week and it took me like 30 seconds to fill out the form.  Do it.  It’s your civic duty.

Text 1 for RATM and 2 for Keane to “79640.” Rage got the nod today by 300 votes! Thanks!

Coming up at 5pm today we will find out the fair market value of the new song from Salt Lake’s very own The Brobecks “Love at First Sight.” I am expecting a pretty solid price for this one.

You priced “Love at First Sight at $0.61.  Not bad.

Zombie Chick Calendar and Text What’s Next

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008 @ 3:37PM

New Feature On X96

So I was on one of my favortie blogger sites “Geekologie” and they had a pretty smokin hot new calander (for Halloween anyway, not sure if I could deal with this year round - especially in the Spring) of zombie chicks.  Click on the example below for more details…

Also I launched a new feature today, and hopefully for evermore, at 4 pm called “Text What’s Next.” Everyday around 3:30 or 3:45 I will give you a choice between some old or something new.  For instance today you can choose between a Deep X Cut from Nirvana, “Frances Farmer Takes Her Revenge on Seattle” or the new song from Jack White and Alicia Keys inspired by the new James Bond film “Quantum of Solace.” Listen weekday afternoons for details.

Jack White and Alicia Keys win 44-22.
