Bring Back OPR???
Share:Wednesday, May 20th, 2009 @ 5:19PM
It's up to you...
For those of you who don’t recall I used to do a weekly, hour-long show called OPR (O’Brien Public Radio). I had a lot of fun doing it and got to play a lot of great bands you might not have ever heard of otherwise. My question is: would you listen if we brought something like this back? Would you care? I was thinking Todd could even co-host with me and we could bring some old-school indie etc, to the mix. Anyway if you like and have suggestions on how to make this interesting for you leave a comment or join the Facebook group by clicking the logo below:
If you would like a look at the OPR archive to see the kind of stuff I used to play click here.
I think it would be a great show to bring back. There are tons of great bands I think you would love but never get to touch on and I know Todd has a bunch he would love to get the word out about as well.

YES! I loved OPR! I haven’t actually made a point to listen to the radio at a certain time of day since it was discontinued. Live and Local is still good to catch, though. Actually, I’d like to see more blog posts with the Top 10 most requested songs, etc.

That’s a big yes to OPR and a big no to Todd tainting it with his crappy 80s styled goth music. Todd’s iPod is bad enough. Don’t make us listen to more of what he thinks is enjoyable music.

Yes, I was a fan of OPR, I am always looking for new music, I also hope you bring back Live and Local (other than RFH this was my favorite show). I think that shows like these 2 are one of the major factors of why X96 is so unique, and why it still attracts listeners!

Yes! I would love it to be back you have no Idea how many bands you opened my eyes to, you seriously helped expand my taste in music. Plus in our day and age we need good music bands like The Arctic Monkeys and The Horrors need air time they’re so good. If you do bring it back You should check out Los Dynamite a track called T.V. its a Mexican Indie band but the song is in english. PLEASE BRING OPR BACK!!

Bring it back! That was the only show to play Brand New on the radio, not to mention Taking Back Sunday and other bands not frequently played on X96’s other shows.

OPR should be brought back and expanded. An Alternative Rock station shouldn’t be predictable. There is a lot of great music out there and you should be cutting edge and introducing new music more often, not restricting what you play. It seems like x96 has turned into a 90’s alt rock radio station that sprinkles new music in. You should be playing hits as well as Deep Tracks, old and new. OPR does that. Bring it back.
