Tragedy

The second tragic death involving 80s teen stars has rocked Generation X yet again.  After the death of “Boner” from Family Ties (Andrew Koenig), I was saddened to hear about Corey Haim’s passing.  I remember first seeing Haim in the classic 80s teen movie Lucas, and it was clear that he had a promising career—if he could keep himself together.  Sometimes I feel sorry for teen stars who end up in these situations.

Please join Zack and me for a reading and discussion from our novel Blogs of Wrath. This will be in the Canteena on the second floor and will begin at 5:30. We’ll answer every question you have, and will read some of our favorite parts of the book.  If you already have a copy of the book, we’ll be happy to sign it. Plus we’ll be selling and signing them tonight. Hard cover $20, and soft cover $10.

Join us so we’re not sitting there all by ourselves feeling like nerds. Bring a friend. It is free to attend. You can touch my mohawk, too.

...for at least one performance.

I never thought I’d see musical genius and former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder back with the band, but he resurfaced for a performance of “Somebody” at the charity performance at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust.  Check it out this video of their soundcheck!
