So let’s have it. Tell me what you think of my blog ... or whatever you feel like saying in this forum. Thanks to web nerd Zack Shutt for getting the comments online.

My evil dog.
Thursday, February 28th, 2008 @ 12:33PM
That's kind of an old photo of the dog, but how can such a cute beagle be evil?
The dog decided at 11pm that he was done sleeping and that it was party time. He was running around the bedroom going nuts. After I put him in the back yard he started barking again. Then we brought him back inside, where he continued to do anything except sleep peacefully. So we put him back outside where he barked about every 40 minutes. Therefore my sleep was constantly interrupted, and when I really did go to sleep it was filled with dreams of getting rid of the damn dog. But then I fed him this morning before I went to work and he was so cute that my vicious heart melted.

Again, I’m slacking with my blog posts!
Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 @ 6:14PM
I'm late again.
It’s been a busy day today and I’m slacking with my blog posts. Sorry this is late.
Hey, are you like me? Is this warm weather making you a little crazy for spring? I’m so ready for it to warm up. A couple of weeks ago I bought some cool weather clothing for mountain biking. I didn’t get gloves because I have some already ... or thought I did. I found one glove, but I need the other. I hope my psycho beagle didn’t find my other glove. If so, then it’s gone for good.
Anyway, watch for future pictures of me on my bike.

Xmas Cards in February
Monday, February 25th, 2008 @ 12:15PM
Today's mail: Xmas cards.
So I get to work today and there’s a fresh pile of mail on my desk, which is typical. But for some reason it was a bunch of xmas cards. I don’t know where they were or why I didn’t receive them until today. It could have been the post office, but more than likely it was the mail distribution system here at X96. These envelopes and packages must have been buried somewhere in our company’s personal mailboxes and someone finally delivered them to me. Let me wish you a very happy holidays and a merry christmas!

I love Jim Rose.
The legendary Jim Rose is in town for the tatoo convention at the Salt Palace this weekend, and we were happy to have him as a guest this morning on Radio From Hell. He’s one of the coolest dudes on the planet. The power has been out all day in our office and I’m posting this on my laptop...with a battery slowly dying...so I gotta wrap it up.

Tragic Bread Spill on 700 East!
Thursday, February 14th, 2008 @ 5:00PM
It's what we all feared!
There is a bread factory across the street from our office, and today is the day that we all feared! A tragic bread spill on 700 East this afternoon resulted in bread crumbs everywhere as the back doors of a truck accidentally opened, disgorging bread everywhere. If you’re in the area of 500 South and 700 East beware of spilled pastries.

Train Nerd Teddy Bear
My wife and I are not fans of Valentine’s Day, but every so often we surprise on another with something. Like today. She sent me a cute little Vermont Teddy Bear dressed as a train nerd. This is perfect for me since I am building an HO scale model railroad in the basement. Ain’t he cute?

Sweet 16 and never been kissed! (But we have been flipped-off several times.)
X96 signed on at 12:01 am on February 13th, 1992 in a dumpy little building in a pasture on the edge of a subdivision in Provo, and we’re still on the air. A few things have changed since then. We’re not in the dumpy little building that smelled like mold and horse crap, and we’re on 96.3 FM instead of 96.1. This was part of moving our transmitter into the Salt Lake valley in 1995. I can’t believe I’ve been here the entire time. Usually people in radio move all over the country, but I’m fortunate to stay with the station that I love.
So when I say thank you for your years of support, I truly mean it.

Athens, GA bands are back at it!

REM and B-52s
Back in the early 1980s when Alternative music was born there were two influencial bands from Athens, Georgia. And both of them have new albums coming out in the next couple of months. That’s why today on todd’s iPod it was a special day of old 80s bands with new music. I like the REM song a lot, and it’s been a while since they’ve even tried to sound like themselves.

Choo-choo!
This is my little model railroad that I’ve been working on in my basement. It’s still far from complete, but I did buy some buildings and a rusty old pickup truck on Saturday while my wife was at a baby shower. I have a lot of work to do on the landscaping, but the buildings add a lot to the scenery. I need to put down my roads and another set of track, eventually an HO scale grade crossing with operating flashing lights and crossing gates ... god, I’m boring you.

Where is todd’s blog post today?
Thursday, February 7th, 2008 @ 5:20PM
I'm late!
Usually I do my blog post during my air shift, but here it is after 4pm and I haven’t posted it. I was busy. See, I was totally going to get it done, but ... you know ... the day just got away from me. My computer wouldn’t boot up. Plus there was something else going on, but I really, really meant to do my blog. And my dog chewed up my homework, too.
You know, my dog actually chewed up a $20 bill yesterday. This is a true story. I guess that means my dog is a jackpot waiting to happen. His ... “leavings” on my lawn might be worth some serious cash!

Vote Today!
Tuesday, February 5th, 2008 @ 1:30PM
Polls are open until 8pm.
I’ve never voted in a presidential primary in my life, but I did today. I think there’s a lot at stake and I’m actually excited for one of the candidates. Most of the time I hate the weasels running for president, but I like Mr. Obama. He’s a smart guy and has a lot of understanding about people in this country. He also understands the constitution and has authored several books. Wow. Can he just take over the White House right now? Please? Help us, Barack!
