“Haunting in Connecticut” is ... not bad.

My review of Haunting in Connecticut
You have to suspend your disbelief and need for logic when you go to see this movie. Do not ask the following questions. If you pick a basement bedroom with a mysterious wall with a mysterious door in a creepy old house, why don’t you pick a different bedroom when it starts to freak you out? When you find out that behind the door is a room where terrible things once happened, and many of the creepy tools for that are still there, why don’t you pick a different bedroom? When creepy trance-like experiences make you go into this creepy room with its creepy tools, why don’t you pick a different bedroom? When the whole entire house starts behaving like the one in “Poltergeist” why don’t you leave? Didn’t “Poltergeist” teach us anything?
If you just sit back and want a fun, scary movie, then it’s just fine. It keeps you guessing and keeps you creeped out. It could have been a bit more vulgar, but that’s just my taste. It seemed restrained at times to get a PG13 rating.

If you read my blog, you know that I like to watch American Idol. I find all aspects of the music industry very interesting, and I like the always-correct feedback from Simon. And yes, I was cheering for our very own David Archuleta last season. That kid is brilliantly talented and obviously worked very hard to arrive where he is in life. He stopped by today to visit our sister station Movin’ 100.7, and I got a chance to chat with him and get a picture. I was surprised to find out that he is an X96 listener and even knew who I was. That was pretty cool. He’s a very polite kid and I have the highest respect for him and I wish him continued success.
And tell your friends that might listen to 97.1 ZHT to check out Movin’ 100.7. My friends run Movin’ and I think they’ve got a good sound.

My review of I LOVE YOU, MAN.

The movie was good and the popcorn was delicious!
I think Paul Rudd and Jason Segel are funny guys, and they really get to showcase this in their new movie “I Love You, Man.” As I suspected from the trailers, the movie is quite a bit more vulgar than you might think. This is not to say the movie lacks charm; it is a sweet movie in many respects. It has the same charm as “Knocked-Up” and is able to keep juvenile idiots like me completely entertained with its vulgar humor. There is even a running dog-poop gag that gets laughs. The movie is rated R, so if that bothers you then you should stay away. Everyone in the theater seemed to enjoy it, and we were all laughing out loud quite often. On a few instances the laughter was so jovial that it drowned out some of the subsequent lines of dialog, so I may need to see it again when it comes out on DVD.

How to make a beagle happy!

My beagle is always happy, but this makes him extra happy. All you gotta do is get on the floor next to him and pet his neck and his big floppy ears. This is my dog Dickie and me last night being totally lazy.
