X96 Nightmare Before Xmas concert is tonight!
Thirty Seconds To Mars, Say Anything, and King Niko tonight at The Rail Event Center.
Music starts promptly at 7pm with King Niko.
Tickets are available at Graywhale for $18 plus service charges today until 5pm, or until they sell out. The rest of the tickets will be at The Rail Box Office for $25 total, cash only, beginning at 5pm. It’s a couple bucks cheaper to get them at Graywhale.
I’ll have all of the bands on the show today while broadcasting live at the Rail from 3p to 7p.
How to get there.
The Rail Event Center is at 235 North, 500 West in Salt Lake City. That’s just a few blocks north from Energy Solutions Arena. From 300 West (the street with Energy Solutions Arena) simply drive to 300 North and go west. West High School is at 300 West and 300 North, so you can’t miss it. Go west past 400 West. Park at the lot just east of the railroad tracks from 300 North, or the smaller lot west of the railroad tracks on 300 North. Both lots are on the south side of 300 North. PLEASE USE CAUTION CROSSING THE RAILROAD TRACKS IF YOU PARK IN THE EAST LOT. USE THE CROSSING AT 300 NORTH AND BE AWARE OF TRAINS! THIS CROSSING HAS FLASHING LIGHTS AND GATES. DO NOT TRY TO CROSS OUTSIDE OF THE CROSSING. THAT IS TRESPASSING, AND WORSE, YOU WILL GET KILLED BY A TRAIN. ALWAYS ASSUME A TRAIN IS COMING! REMEMBER THAT TRAINS MAY NOT HONK THEIR HORNS AT THIS CROSSING AND FRONTRUNNER TRAINS ARE FAST AND QUIET. OBEY THE RAILROAD CROSSING SIGNALS! The Rail Event Center is on the west side of the tracks. You’ll see the X96 Short Bus, and concert security personnel will show you where to line up. Carpool and arrive early. Parking is $5.
Bring cash so you can buy food, drinks, T-shirts, and CD’s from Graywhale. Adult beverages are available on the upper level if you are 21 or older. Must have valid ID. The main floor is all ages with no adult beverages allowed.

I smell like rainkissed leaves.

Sniff me.
When the weather turns cold, my skin dries up and I have to use lotion to stay moist. Usually I have a bottle of something relatively manly—like Lubriderm. But this morning the Lubriderm was empty and I had to improvise. My wife loves the Bath & Body Works store in the mall where they sell lots of delicious lotions, body spray, candles, and bubble bath. I am proud to announce that I am wearing some wonderfully fresh Rainkissed Leaves body cream. And ladies—you’re absolutely correct about this store. Their lotion is awesome.
I’m gonna have to try the Cherry Blossom tomorrow or the Vanilla Bean Noel! Ooh, and some candles and bubblebath!

Vampires are not cute little pin-up boys.
There are two good things about all this Twilight nonsense. We always get a good soundtrack and kids are reading books again. After that, it becomes annoying very quickly. I know I’m going to make lots of little girls cry a little, but vampires are supposed to scare the bejesus out of you, not stand there all glittery with a pouting expression on their faces like a 1984 Corey Hart poster. (Look it up, kids. You’ll see what I’m talking about.)
I saw the first movie, and I can unequivocollay proclaim that Edward Cullen is a total **censored**. Real vampires should be creepy dead-looking bald guys that look like Mr. Burns. Nosferatu could kick the crap out of Robert Pattinson.

Exclusive Maynard James Keenan interview.

Maynard James Keenan's Puscifer in concert tonight!
I could not believe the opportunity I had to record an interview with Maynard James Keenan of Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer. He’s not exactly known for running around with the press, and rarely does interviews with little local radio stations. However, I was able to spend a few minutes talking to him about the Puscifer concert, wine, and a few other topics. Please note that this interview was recorded a few months ago when the Puscifer show was first announced, and that was before they had to cancel last night’s original date and move the whole thing to tonight.
Usually I edit out some of the awkard breaks in the interview or parts where I’m clearly freaked out to actually be talking to someone like Maynard. This is entirely unedited just so you can see how excited I am.

The show is tonight at Capitol Theater in downtown Salt Lake City. Get tickets at the Capitol Theater Box Office.

The Droid is here. And X96 is on it!
I bought a new Droid on Saturday and I love it. Our beloved web guy, Zack Shutt, showed me how to stream X96 on it. Here’s how:
In your phone’s internet browser, visit http://1.ice1.sa.streamaudio.com:8000/kxrk_fm.mp3 to stream X96. You may want to bookmark this link in your phone’s browser to save you some time.
I’m hoping that Zack purchases a Droid so he can show me how to use mine, because I’m old and confused by technology.
