Michigan state Representatives Todd Courser (R) and Cindy Gamrat (R) are under investigation after the Detroit News released tapes of Courser imploring House aide Ben Graham to create a “smear campaign” that would make the revelation of his affair with Gamrat seem “tame by comparison,” MLive.com’s Jonathan Oosting reports. Courser and Gamrat are both freshmen representatives with strong Tea Party affiliations — the pair self-identify as Tea Party “gladiators” — and they have been at odds with establishment Republicans since the moment they entered the Michigan House. The duo had an unusual arrangement, sharing an office and three aides. Gamrat was kicked out of the Republican caucus in April after she was caught leaking confidential GOP documents.

Two people are arrested after allegedly threatening a car dealership in west Wichita according to police. Wichita Police say the couple went to Midwest Kia to purchase a car and became angry when they were denied financing. A man allegedly pulled a gun and threatened employees. No one was injured. The couple were arrested on charges of aggravated assault. The girlfriend contacted KAKE News. She says that the incident happened after a car deal went bad. She said that her boyfriend pulled out an unloaded gun after feeling threatened while trying to leave the parking lot.

A man who backed up pornographic images of children, including girls as young as five being raped, onto CDs tried to blame his sons for downloading them. But Andrew Martin finally admitted his responsibility after it was found the son he first blamed would only have been three or four, and his brother no older than six, at the time. Martin, 43, of Southam Road, Long Itchington, pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to three charges of making indecent images of children and three of possessing such images. And at Coventry Crown Court he was given a three-year community sentence and ordered to take part in a sex offenders’ program for three years and to live at a probation hostel for the first six months.
