Unless you live under a rock where the Internet doesn’t exist (How are you reading this article?), by now you have heard about that time last week when Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters fell off a stage in Sweden during a show and broke his leg.

Before being carted off by medical personnel, Dave made a pledge to the audience that he’d come back and finish his show.

Let’s stop right there for just a second. If you were in the audience and saw this happen, what would you think he meant by that promise? You’d probably think, “Dang! Well, I guess they’ll come back in a few months after he’s all healed up and do another set. At least I’ll get to see two Foo Fighters’ shows.” Right?

Well, what Dave actually meant was, “Hang out here for a while. I’ll be right back and we’ll knock this out.”

So that’s what he did. Dave made somebody go to the hospital and bring a cast to him. He made an EMT hold his leg in place for a few songs until the cast arrived. Then he got casted up and rocked the place. (Read Daves account of the whole experience right HERE)

While an act like this isn’t the least bit surprising for fans of Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, – the dude is known for giving it all for his fans – it still all but guarantees his name to end up as definition #4 under “Badass” in next year’s edition of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

Here’s the moment where Dave was rocking so hard he forgot where the floor ended:
