Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s cult 1990s comic book series Preacher is taking another step to the small screen as the drama adaptation of the controversial comic from This Is the End writers/directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg has been picked up to pilot by AMC. Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer set to become most popular ever

The debut teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is on course to become the most-viewed movie trailer of all time, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The trade magazine cites a spokesperson for technology firm Zefr.

The 88-second promo for JJ Abrams’s film has so far been viewed 52.8m times onYouTube after hitting the web on 28 November, giving it the most opening-week plays of the year ahead of the teaser for The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The latter trailer was viewed 50.6m times in a week after leaking into the web in October. (Read Story)

Suicide Squad: Will Smith, Jared Leto and Tom Hardy to star

Warner Bros. have named Will Smith, Tom Hardy and Jared Leto among the cast for the upcoming Suicide Squad film. Smith will star as Deadshot, Hardy will play the group’s leader, Rick Flag, and 30 Seconds to Mars singer Leto will take on the role of The Joker. The cast also includes Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. (Read Story)
