Confederate battle flags were stealthily placed on the grounds of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s church, and authorities said Thursday they were looking for two white males who were recorded on surveillance camera leaving the banners behind. Atlanta Police Chief George Turner said his agency was working with federal authorities and they have not determined what charges might be levied. Turner said they have not ruled out a hate crime.

A Hyrum woman is charged with multiple felonies after allegedly ripping off a Logan law firm more than $50,000. But this wasn’t just any law firm. Police say Samantha Bybee, 30, had just started working there days earlier. Bybee didn’t wait long before writing some big checks on behalf of her new company, according to Logan Police Capt. Curtis Hooley. She’s accused of forging her boss’s signature and cashing the checks for herself.

Musician and pro-gun activist Ted Nugent has weighed in on Cecil the lion’s death, saying he believes the “whole story is a lie.” A fan of Nugent’s asked him on Facebook what he thought about trophy hunter Walter Palmer killing the beloved Zimbabwe lion after luring him out of a national park with the help of professional guides. “The whole story is a lie,” writes Nugent in response. “It was a wild lion from a ‘park’ where hunting is legal & ESSENTIAL beyond the park borders.”
