The Force Awakens Around The World: Star Wars Fans Invited to Join Global Event On Youtube
Star Wars: The Force Awakens products are set to be unveiled in the world’s first ever global live toy unboxing event. Unfolding over 18 hours in 15 cities and 12 countries, the event will see highlights from the range of epic merchandise revealed in a rolling New Year’s Eve style celebration featuring top digital stars from the Maker Studios network. “Star Wars toys have always played an important role in how our fans interact with the saga,” says Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. “They’ve inspired multiple generations to relive the experience of the movies and to create new adventures all their own. These spectacular Star Wars: The Force Awakens products will continue that tradition.” Kicking off in Sydney, Australia on the morning of September 3 and continuing through Asia, Europe, Canada, and North and South America, selections from the new toy line will debut to global fanfare leading up to retailers around the globe opening their doors at midnight.

If “Phase 3″ of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – which begins next summer with Captain America: Civil War falls short of expectations, there’s going to be one less person to blame. The already tight knit creative team at the top of Marvel Studios just got smaller. Any film buff familiar with the happenings of superhero movies over the last decade, most notably the formation, acquisition of, and success of Marvel Studios as a top tier movie production powerhouse, should know the name of producer Kevin Feige very well. He’s the main guy responsible for what the MCU is. He’s the guy who helped get Robert Downey Jr. to sign for more Marvel movies (including the aforementioned Civil War) when certain executives didn’t want to pay his high salary. And he’s even the guy who just managed to get his boss out of the picture.

For a long time, it seemed like Bill Murray was done with theGhostbusters franchise. After a successful sequel in 1989, Murray dragged his feet on reprising the role of Peter Venkman for a potentialGhostbusters 3. His years-long hesitation eventually scuttled the notion of a direct sequel, paving the way for next year’s series reboot, directed by Paul Feig. It came as a surprise, then, when reports broke weeks ago that Murray had actually taken a part in Feig’s new film. Instead of playing Venkman, it’s rumored that Murray will appear as a character out to debunk the newGhostbusters crew, played by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. DC Superhero Red Tornado Blows Into the Supergirl TV Series, But With a Twist
Twist? Tornado? Spinning? Never mind. Peaky Blinders and Salem star Iddo Goldberg has been cast as the superheroic android in the utterly fabulous-looking new Supergirl TV series, but not quite as DC fans will recognize him. First of all, it appears he’s going to be—or at least start out as— a villain, according toComicBook.com. Second of all, Goldberg has also been cast as the awesomely named Dr. T.O. Morrow, the scientist who creates the Red Tornado in the DC comic-verse.
Archie’s Chief Creative Officer is bringing The Brides of Dracula to TV
Remember when NBC decided to bet on a retooling of the Dracula story with Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the title role, and it didn’t quite work? Well, the Count may be dead on the small screen for now, but his brides are getting a new chance at life. Deadline reports that NBC has committed to producing a pilot for Brides, a modern take on the Brides of Dracula (who appeared in everything from Bram Stoker’s original novel to their own Hammer Horror film) from writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (best known as the chief creative officer of Archie Comics) and Arrow producer Greg Berlanti. Described as a “gothic soap drama,” the series will explore what might have happened if the Brides had never been killed by Van Helsing and survived to the present day, and reimagine the events of Dracula with “a trio of strong, diverse female leads.”
