More Horrible Poems And A Horrible Doodle.

If you fill up the barrel here at Trolley Corners with socks and underwear for the children at Guadalupe School, we'll read one of these on the air.

This is a doodle that proves I have no discernible artistic ability.  I wanted to be able to draw; I wanted to be creative on all levels.  It was, unfortunately, not to be.

Here are two poems spread across two pages of my journal.  This first page has the very touching, I might even say vomit inducing poem “Weary.”  Following that is “Song” which is even more vomitous than “Weary” if such a thing is possible.  In the final part of “Song” I must have meant “waiting quietly (not quiet) for you to return.”  Either that or I was trying to be poetic in some way.  Following “Song” a quote from John Lennon.

Can you stand any more of this?  Let me know.

Thanks for listening,
Bill

Poems. Really Embarrassing Poems.

This stuff was written when I was 18 years old. It's really bad.

This is the inside of the small journal I began keeping just after my 18th birthday.  I don’t know what I was thinking.  It would be too embarrassing for me to read these on the radio, I think, and even more embarrassing to hear someone else read them.  Maybe I won’t post anything more here either.  It depends on how I feel about it in the next few days, but I have a whole bunch of this stuff.

The first couple of things on this page are quotes, as you can probably see; one from John Lennon and one from Eugene Ionesco.  Then there is a poem called Spring and a short haiku (maybe) called Love.

I’m red-faced.

Thanks for listening.  Let me know if you want more of this stuff.

Go Baby, Go!

You can go fast!

Have you seen the 80 MPH signs out on I-15?  You can legally drive 80mph on certain sections of I-15 now which means that you can really drive 85-87mph cause that’s how much over the limit they allow.  These sections of interstate are “test sections” so UDOT can determine if the speed limit ought to be raised to 80 in other places, permanently.  Never mind that more fuel will be wasted at these higher speeds, I’m a bit concerned about the idea of testing the speed limit out there on the highway.  That means that UDOT is using you and me as test subjects.  If only a small number of us are killed or injured in highway crashes in these test zones, the speed limit may be raised.  So let’s hope there aren’t a lot of fiery crashes out there so we can arrive at our destinations a few minutes earlier.  Hang on, kids!  Go fast!

Thanks for listening,
Bill

This is a creepy thing on my kitchen window sill.

Little Mrs. Bill made this in a summer class at Red Butte Garden.  It’s a Chia ant according to her. It looked pretty good at first but it’s just getting worse and worse looking.  Ya can’t throw it away though.

Thanks for listening
Bill
