OUCH

My mom went in yesterday to get herself a new knee. Apparently the old one was worn out from praying for her son to do the right thing.  But seriously, at 55yrs old she has worn through her original God given knee and now has the chance to wear out another one.  My mom is the hardest working person I have ever met.  Always doing a million things, never rests, I’m surprised she hasnt traded in her whole body for new one…is that even possible?

My little pet project

You probably all remember the little project a while back “X Mart”.  It was a place to get station swag.  You know, your regular run of the mill X96 logo t-shirts or RFH logo t-shirts. Well we are bringing it back.  Only this will be a store to get designer t-shirts that all of us here at X96 have designed. You will find a shirt of some sorts from all of your favorites here. Artie will have one, Corey, Todd, RFH even Andy Pants and Portia. Keep looking back at X96.com for our big launch coming in the next couple of weeks.

If you have shirt suggestions leave a comment or email

5 more years til my next reunion..

1yr ago I started planning my high school reunion.  I knew that there had to be good food, lots of people, entertainment, music, and plenty of time to mingle.  I knew that I had to get the word out to all the people of my graduating class.  I knew that I needed to have a committee to help with the process as to not be overwhelmed. I did all of those things.  And as luck would have it….I GOT SICK FRIDAY NIGHT. Not just kinda sick..you know the kind where you don’t feel great but you still muster through the ordeal.  I am talking about not able to speak, headache, fever, achy body sick.
The sickness couldn’t have come next weekend or the last weekend it had to be on the one weekend that my high school reunion took place.
I had a good time though.  Lots of people that I hadn’t seen in a long time showed up.  It was fun to see how some things from high school still have not changed.  The cool kids sat with the cool kids.  The nerdy kids hung out with the nerdy kids.  Few crossed social borders and few expected them to.  One of the most entertaining portions of the evening was when I asked people to tell me what they thought would come to them in the next 10 yrs.  From over 75 alumni these were the only four answers:
1. Be Retired (it didn’t get funnier as I kept hearing the same joke”
2. Travel a lot “We like to travel and hope our kids will like to travel”
3. “Have a couple more kids” says the husband. “One more” Says the wife
4. Hopefully be married and not living in my parents house
I had a lot of specific goals (of course I had a lot of time to think about it and I knew the question was coming) I thought I would share those here.
By June 21st 2018 I would like to:
Have a mortgage. Either owning my own home, townhouse, or condo
Be married.. maybe a kid or two…(Save us all from little Richy’s wandering around)
Be making enough money to rise above the poverty line
If not still working for Kerry Bill and Gina, still be “in good” with them (No Brett Smith incident)
Complete a triathlon
Write an entire play (for Desert Star or elsewhere)
Won an award for something, work, theatre ,or other related.
Go sky diving
Go to the Holy land (You know, Palmyra, Kirtland, Nauvoo)
Shake hands with the Prophet.
I suppose that is all…

Going on vacation is harder than staying at work

It seems that way

I am taking my first real long vacation in a couple of weeks, but I have decided that going out of town takes a lot of work.  You have to plan where it is that you will be staying, how much it all cost, try and coordinate schedules etc.  Not to mention that because there is not an assistant producer or another “paid” employee that does my job I have to make sure that my capable interns have all the training/knowledge/confidence to take over while I am gone.  In the next couple of days they will be taking care of the show.  Its kinda fun to watch them rise to the occasion.  It is hard to think of everything that the show will experience in the matter of one week (How can you predict the brains of Kerry Bill and Gina) But I have no choice.  You will not want to miss these shows (July 14th-18th)
