11-Year-Old takes Mini Cooper for Joyride; Demolishes Car, Shed

After a Mini Cooper crashed through a resident’s shed and slammed into a tree on Saturday, paramedics were shocked when they discovered who was behind the wheel of the totaled vehicle: an 11-year-old boy.

The incident occurred at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday in Harlan, Indiana. Although the boy suffered a head injury and was initially listed in serious condition, a spokesman for the Allen County Sheriff’s Department says he’s now “doing well and is going to be all right.”

Investigators still haven’t determined how the boy got the keys to the vehicle or where he was driving it to, the spokesman says.
