The event, which aired from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on 17 networks, was bested by only two other inaugurations: Ronald Reagan’s, which drew 41.8 million viewers in 1981, and Barack Obama’s, which attracted 37.8 million in 2009, according to Nielsen.
