“Halloween” Slashes the Competition at the Box Office

Michael Myers was back in theaters this weekend, and he slashed the competition at the box office to the tune of $77.5 million giving the franchise its biggest opening ever. The big box office numbers also gave the film the second-highest horror opening of all time behind last year’s Stephen King film, “It.” The latest addition to the franchise only took $10 million to make, and has gotten mostly positive reviews, earning an 80 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
