MLB: Cleveland Will No Longer Use Indians Team Name

The Cleveland Indians are planning to drop the nickname they’ve used for more than a century.

The team has faced mounting pressure from Native American groups and others to drop “Indians”, which many feel is insensitive and racist.
It’s unclear if a new nickname has been picked yet.

This year in the NFL, the Washington Football team dropped “Redskins” from its franchise.

The Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago Blackhawks are other pro teams that use Native American imagery in their names and logos.

Do you agree with Cleveland’s decision? Ideas for a new nickname?
