On Tuesday, NFL owners formally voted to expand the playoffs to 14 teams beginning this fall. Under the new system, only one team from each conference will get a first-round bye. One extra wild-card team will be added in each conference, and face the No. 2 seed in the first round. The new format means the first round will see triple-headers on both Saturday and Sunday, with the extra games to be carried on CBS and NBC.
