Invasion of the Body Snatchers Remake Set At Warner Bros.

Body snatchers are evergreen. A remake of the science fiction staple Invasion of the Body Snatchers is in development at Warner Bros., according to The Hollywood Reporter. After the idea of a silent alien invasion that threatens to turn the world’s population into a horde of replicant drones was published by Jack Finney as a magazine series called The Body Snatchers, direct adaptations and countless other films and TV shows have made Finney’s concept a specific sci-fi genre.  Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), which stuck closely to Finney’s source material, and a 1978 remake starring Donald Sutherland, are considered horror classics, so it’s no wonder Warner Bros. is looking to return to the well.

Matt Groening Netflix Animated Comedy A Go With 20-Episode Order, Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon & Eric Andre Lead Voice Cast

Disenchantment, Matt Groening’s long-gestating adult animated comedy fantasy series for Netflix, is moving forward with an official 20-episode order. The series fromThe Simpsons creator and Futurama creator will premiere in 2018, with the 20 episodes airing over two seasons of 10 episodes each.

With some of nerd culture’s hottest debates on the line, John Barrowman, Aisha Tyler and Orlando Jones had plenty to say and sing about at Syfy’s The Great Debate. Following a refresh of its brand, Syfy is making a huge splash at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con. Man Stabbed Seven Times Over Magic: The Gathering Argument

A 31-year-old man has been charged with stabbing another guy seven times—and hitting him with a mallet—after an argument broke out during a game of Magic: The Gathering. According to the St. Cloud Police Department in Minnesota, Elija Creech and his 20-year-old gaming buddy were playing the Magic: The Gatheringcard game overnight Friday when the two of them got into a heated argument (we don’t know what about, but I’m doing a head canon that Creech’s opponent did a double-strike using Blood Mist and a Bloodmad Vampire, and Creech did not care for that).
