Soundgarden Guitarist Blasts Chris Cornell Murder Conspiracy Theories

Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil is dismissing murder conspiracy theories that persist well over a year after the death of the band’s frontman Chris Cornell. In a conversation with the Detriot Free Press, Thayil said he and the rest of the band were already on their way to Columbus for the band’s next show when they found out he had passed in Detroit.

Thayil says nobody saw anything “that would have allowed us to anticipate what would happen.” He said the show that night had a few early challenges but that it went fine after those were smoothed out. The guitarist also squashed numerous myths and theories about Cornell having been murdered.
