Prince Cremated And Remembered At ‘Private, Beautiful’ Ceremony

Prince’s remains have been cremated and his family and friends attended a private ceremony on Saturday to pay their respects to the late pop superstar at the studio complex where he died in a suburb of Minneapolis, a Prince spokeswoman said. Among those seen entering the Paisley Park Studios complex, where Prince lived in Chanhassen, Minnesota, were his sister, Tyka Nelson, musician and former collaborator Sheila E., his former bass player Larry Graham and model Damaris Lewis.

 Prince Autopsy Results Likely to Take Weeks

Today, authorities in Minnesota announced that an autopsy of Prince’s body was performed at 1 p.m. local time, upon which the late singer’s body was handed over to his family. Results of the of the exam, including toxicology tests, won’t be released for weeks, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office said in a statement this afternoon…In a press conference later in the day, local police reiterated that it will take weeks before they release concrete information regarding how or why Prince died. Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson did tell the press that there was no obvious signs of trauma on Prince’s body and that they don’t believe he committed suicide.

Prince’s life-threatening medical emergency 6 days before he died comes through loud and clear in transmissions between his pilot and air traffic control. The audio transmissions — obtained by TMZ — chronicle a pilot who had to get his plane on the ground STAT in Moline, Illinois to save his famous passenger.  Prince’s plane is identified as “990.” At 48 seconds you hear the controller from Chicago Center say, “CFR [certified first responder] will be waiting.”
