Conan O’Brien Has Done His Last 1-Hour Episode

Thursday night marked the end of Conan as we know it. The TBS show will be reduced from 1 hour to 30 minutes after a three-month hiatus. The decision was made earlier this year to get rid of their “traditional” late-night format. Conan O’Brien is the longest-running late night host. He started his stint in 1993 with Late Night on NBC. Thursday’s show also was the last for O’Brien’s house band. Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band will not return to the show when it comes back in January. The new version of Conan will not feature musical guests. O’Brien is heading out on a comedy tour before he comes back to TV. He’ll be on the road in November and December.
