Nevada Wants To Crack Down On Pre-Fight Trash Talk

In the MMA world, trash-talking your opponent is an essential part of hyping up a big fight. But the Nevada State Athletic Commission wants to crack down on all the pre-fight jabbering. The NSAC’s executive director would like to ‘rein it in’, citing the October incident between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov in which pre-fight trash talk led to a post-fight brawl that spilled into the stands. Both McGregor and Nurmgomedov were slapped with months-long suspensions over that incident, but NSAC officials might start handing down fines and suspensions before any violence breaks out.
