For the first time in 800 years, a volcano near Iceland’s capital city has erupted and drone footage captured the remarkable images.
The video was recorded by aerial photographer Bjorn Steinbekk.
It shows red molten lava flowing like a river from the erupting volcano.

The drone then nears the spout of the volcano and captures the moment lava spews out of it.
Scientists say a series of small earthquakes in the past several weeks caused the eruption.
