29 years ago today, a brand new band called Rage Against The Machine played their first-ever public gig – and you can watch the whole thing on YouTube.
On October 23rd, 1991, Rage made their debut on a small outdoor stage on the campus of California State University in Northridge, CA. While only a few people appear to be watching, the band sounds just as tight and ferocious as the RATM we all know and love.

They’ve come a long way – Rage Against The Machine was set to headline this year’s Coachella and launch a sold-out reunion tour before the pandemic interfered.
Ever see a band perform before they were famous? Did you have a feeling they were going to be big?
