Boner Candidate #1: TAKE ONE OF THESE TO SCHOOL AND ACT LIKE A BOSS

Walmart has condemned a display inside one of its stores that appeared to market firearms as back-to-school items. The company said Wednesday it was working to identify which of its stores put up the exhibit. A photo of a sign reading “Own the school year like a hero” was placed directly above a glass case filled with guns. Photos of it spread like wildfire on social media. People cried foul on Twitter and demanded an explanation from Walmart. One person asked: “What are you suggesting?” Walmart responded to some of the comments by calling the display “truly awful” and “horrible.”

Boner Candidate #2: HE HAD A BAG OF METH TOO? HOW ABOUT THAT.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Authorities say a man who tried to deposit what he presented as a $1 million bill has been charged with drug possession in Iowa. A criminal complaint says Sioux City police officers were called to a Northwest Bank branch Thursday to talk to a man who tried to deposit the bill into his account. The officers asked 33-year-old Dennis Strickland whether he had any more of the bills and that a baggie fell out when he emptied a pocket. The complaint says the baggie contained methamphetamine.

Boner Candidate #3: I WANTED TO BE IN A SAFE PLACE

Police say Sean McCullough made the dangerous decision to drive whiule intoxicated in Delaware County. But he also had a brief moment of clarity — or stupidity, depending on how you look at it. Shortly before 4 a.m. on Wednesday, McCullough, 44, of Havertown, was driving through Upper Darby when he approached the township police station on West Chester Pike and decided to pull into the parking lot designated for police officers, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. An Upper Darby officer watched on surveillance cameras as McCullough drove around the entrance gates to the lot, into the exit lane, onto the grass, and then over a sidewalk before he parked his 2008 Ford station wagon “right there with the police cars,” Chitwood said.
