Boner Candidate #1: MY NAME IS DEATH TO TRAITORS

Four serving members of the British Army suspected of membership in a neo-Nazi group were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of being involved “in the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism,” law enforcement officials said. The police in West Midlands said the four men — a 22-year-old from Birmingham, in the West Midlands; a 32-year-old man from Powys, in Wales; a 24-year-old from Ipswich, in Suffolk; and a 24-year-old from Northampton, in the East Midlands were being held at a police station in the West Midlands and that police had searched several properties in connection with the arrests. “The arrests were preplanned and intelligence-led,” the West Midlands police said in a statement, adding that there had been no threat to the public’s safety.

Boner Candidate #2: MELANIA HELPS THE DONALD PROMOTE AMERICAN LABOR

First Lady Melania Trump said “ciao” to American designers, sporting an Italian-made dress in the president’s tweet celebrating “American labor.” “We are building our future with American hands, American labor, American iron, aluminum and steel. Happy #LaborDay!” President Trump tweeted Monday, along with an image of himself holding hands with his wife at the congressional picnic in June. While Trump’s tweet seems to be reiterating his campaign promise to bring back American jobs, the first lady committed a messaging faux pas — donning a dress manufactured in Italy, the Daily Mail reported.

Boner Candidate #3: VOTE FOR ME, I’M WHITE.

Candidates for political office often tout their experience or intelligence as reasons why they’re qualified. A woman running to be mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, also promoted the fact that she’s white.  In a since-deleted Facebook post, Kimberley Paige Barnette, 52, suggested voters should pick her Sept. 12 to be the Republican candidate for mayor because she is “REPUBLICAN & SMART, WHITE, TRADITIONAL.” The post has since been deleted, but a screen shot survives. Barnette is currently running far behind two other candidates in the city’s GOP primary, according to The Charlotte Observer.  Her now-deleted post didn’t actually engender support. One man commented, “You are NOT doing conservatives or Republicans any favors,” according to the paper.
