Alan Thicke, TV Icon, Dead At 69

TV icon Alan Thicke, who endeared himself to audiences through his role as the father on the ABC sitcom “Growing Pains,” died on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey with his son. He was 69. Thicke’s son Robin told the Los Angeles Times that his father had a heart attack while playing with another son, Carter. TMZ, which first reported the news, said that Thicke was pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, California.

‘Jeopardy’ contestant wins $23K in episode aired after her death

“Jeopardy!” contestant Cindy Stowell, who died last week of cancer, turned in a winning performance on Tuesday’s show. In the episode, which was pre-taped, she finished with $22,801 in prize winnings, good enough to unseat seven-time champion Tim Aten and return in the next episode. Stowell, a science content developer from Austin, Texas, was in third place after the first round but made a run in the second to enter Final Jeopardy in first place, with $12,200. She was the only contestant to correctly identify the second-largest city in Cuba as “Santiago,” and wagered $10,601 to bolster her earnings.
