Anonymous artist Banksy is talking a bit more about the prank that saw half of his “Girl With Balloon” artwork shredded at a Sotheby’s auction. The shredding didn’t go as planned with the artwork only half of the work passing through the shredder before it stopped. In a social media posting, Banksy says the work was supposed to completely pass through the shredder. Banksy repeatedly tested the shredding mechanism inside the frame and it passed through without any trouble. However, those tests may have been done with paper. The artwork was likely painted on a canvas or linen of some sort.
