Move over toilet paper, cause the latest hot item during the pandemic is the bicycle. Marketing group NPD says that bicycle sales and repair services during the month of March nearly doubled the numbers from March 2019. One bicycle shop owner told KPRC in Houston, Texas that she’s sold out of bikes until September and any bike under $1,000 “has been flying off the shelves. Every week we stock 100 bikes and they’re gone within 24 hours. The best way to describe it is like a toilet paper syndrome.”
Forget toilet paper. The latest product to spike in sales during the coronavirus pandemic is… bicycles?
