It was “emphatic” that I remind you about this show. Why? Because it takes a village to get this list done each week. And who is Ringo Deathstar? I had to look them up (I certainly don’t know everything). What I found out is that they are from Austin, Texas and formed around 2007. They are influenced by The Smiths, The Cure, and Fugazi. Now you can’t go around saying that I don’t do real research for this blog. Also, I know this will be a good show because one of our sales executives came and closed my door stating they are “quiet people.” It was just like some deleted scene from “Reality Bites.”
• X Ambassadors at Gallivan Center
The second-to-last of the 2019 Toyota Salt City Sounds Concert Series features X Ambassadors, who just dropped their latest album, “ORION” last month. Open support features The Shelters, Backseat Lovers, and Parkway Avenue. Doors at 6 pm. Join X96 at Club 50 West for a free LoungeX acoustic performance at 2:30p – must be 21 to attend the LoungeX performance.
• The Flaming Lips at Ogden Amphitheatre
The Ogden Twilight Concert Series continues with confetti, balloon walking, and good vibes with The Flaming Lips who return for their 2nd year in a row at the series. The Growlers are opening.
• Shinedown at USANA Amphitheatre
It’s a good night for guitars in Northern Utah. Shinedown’s Attention, Attention World Tour brings along Badflower, Dinosaur Pile-Up, and Broken Hands.
• Seal at Red Butte Gardens
The man launched into a superstar by really bad Batman film is still going stronger Batfleck! Sold out show at Red Butte tonight, so find your friendly, local neighborhood scalper for the tickets – just make sure they are legit before you hand that cash over.
• Pod Tours America at the Eccles Theatre
It’s Pod Save America (if you don’t know, it’s a podcast with over 370 million downloads), but live, for a night of virtue signaling, President bashing, and nothing short than a democratic rally in a red state though, as stated in press materials are, “equally hard on the Democratic Party when it screws up.” Fair and balanced, no?
• Patton Oswalt at Kingsbury Hall
One of the funniest people in the world! You know Mr. Oswalt from his movies, tv, books and the reason you’re going to this show – his standup.
• The Head and The Heart at The Complex
No matter what your ticket says, this show is at The Complex. The Head and the Heart bring along Hippo Campus for their Living Mirage Tour. Buy a ticket and get their new album for free! Excellent.
• Utah Royals FC vs. Portland Thorns FC at Rio Tinto Stadium
