The Calendar is brought to you by The Depot!
*This calendar is mostly accurate. probably!
• Broadcasting Job Fair at the University of Utah
Have you been thinking about a job in broadcasting? Are you sure? You know, coders, bankers, tech consultants are good and in-demand jobs, right? You know those jobs pay a lot more, too. Well, if you insist that broadcasting is for you, you should head to the University of Utah ballroom in the Union from 9 am to 1 pm and chat with people from all aspects of broadcasting: sales, engineering, on-air, clerical, traffic, promotions, internships, and more (don’t ask).
• Cirque du Soleil – Crystal at Maverik Center
There’s no need to head to Vegas when the Vegas comes to you. Going on through March 10th with “Crystal.” There will be ice, skating, acrobatics, rich choreography, amazing costumes, people much more physically fit than you are, ramps, jumps, and a strong sense of sensuality throughout!
• Eric Andre at Wiseguys Gateway
Performances through Sunday, but the only one with any tickets left is tonight’s show at the time of this posting. No doubt you’ve seen Adult Swim’s “The Eric Andre Show” and if you haven’t, well buy your tickets and head over to YouTube in that order. Oh, that Eric! He’s a trickster!
• 7th Annual Indie Ogden Awards
Ogden is throwing a find celebrash at Timbermine Steakhouse to celebrate their, “dreamers, artists, rabble-rousers, movers, shakers, and merrymakers” with a wild-west theme. A 3-course meal to accompanying the festivities. O-Town gets down and you should, too.
• Weathers at Kilby Court
I’ve played them before on X96 IPO, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I am strongly recommended you go to see this L.A. band at Kilby Court. Remember, if you’re over 21, stop at Fischer Brewery before the show, as there no alcohol allowed in the venue, bro. Ariana and the Rose, Overstreet, and The Sardines will also be performing for your pleasure.
• Mansionair at Kilby Court
Two shows you must see at one of the few places you can’t drink! Hey! Maybe you’ll uphold that resolution after all. The fact this band is traveling all the way from Australia to play music for you so you can at least travel up from West Jordan. Beacon is coming play music with them as well.
• Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness at The Depot
Alt music’s self-proclaimed nature-boy escapes the wilderness for a tour that land right in Salt Lake for the Upside Down Flowers Tour. It all has me feeling very Namaste-ish.
