• The Road Home’s 32nd Annual Chili Affair at the Salt Palace

We love our friends at The Road Home and the amazing work they do to help those struggling in our community. That is why we really recommend you attend this fantastic event. Now that is it finally fall, what better food than chili is there to enjoy? In addition to tasting the gourmet chili, salads, bread, and desserts from 17 of the best restaurants along the Wasatch Front, live entertainment will wow attendees with special performances. Kids will also be entertained at the supervised children’s area with bounce houses, face paint, Scales and Tales, games and more. As you may have guessed, proceeds go to help individuals and families overcome homelessness.

• Anita Hill at the Univerity of Utah

Talk about timely! As a potential new Supreme Court Judge faces accusations, it’s easy (because they media reminds us) about Anita Hill and what she went through when she came forward with claims of sexual misconduct against Clarence Thomas. Anita Hill is Professor of Social Policy, Law, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University. She also chairs the Commission on Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality in the Workplace. The event is free, but I suspect it’s going to be a tough event to attend. Entry to this event will be on a first come, first serve basis.

It seems like only 1 year ago I was there for their grand opening. Go figure! Kiitos Brewing will be 1 year old and we would love to celebrate with everyone. We will be fencing off the parking lot for food, fun, and drinks outside, as well as opening up the warehouse to the public. Our friends at Lucky Slice Pizza will be selling pies and also giving out one free slice of pizza to all guests, and Social Axe Throwing will be bringing their mobile unit for some good ol’ axe throwing fun. Many other games like corn hole, darts, spike ball, et cetera. Karaoke in the warehouse for those brave souls that live to sing in front of others. 4 new beers will be released for this event!
