*This calendar is mostly accurate. probably!

• The Road Home’s 32nd Annual Chili Affair at the Salt Palace

We love our friends at The Road Home and the amazing work they do to help those struggling in our community. That is why we really recommend you attend this fantastic event. Now that is it finally fall, what better food than chili is there to enjoy? In addition to tasting the gourmet chili, salads, bread, and desserts from 17 of the best restaurants along the Wasatch Front, live entertainment will wow attendees with special performances. Kids will also be entertained at the supervised children’s area with bounce houses, face paint, Scales and Tales, games and more. As you may have guessed, proceeds go to help individuals and families overcome homelessness.

• Anita Hill at the Univerity of Utah

Talk about timely! As a potential new Supreme Court Judge faces accusations, it’s easy (because they media reminds us) about Anita Hill and what she went through when she came forward with claims of sexual misconduct against Clarence Thomas. Anita Hill is Professor of Social Policy, Law, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University. She also chairs the Commission on Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality in the Workplace. The event is free, but I suspect it’s going to be a tough event to attend. Entry to this event will be on a first come, first serve basis.

• Crucialfest 8 at Utah State Fairpark

2 days, 3 stages, and over 40 bands, Crucialfest 8 features music from about every single genre you can think of. Headliners feature Neurosis, Chelsea Wolfe, Pig Destroyer, and Russian Circles to name a few. Various days and ticket packages are available.

• Mansionair and Bob Moses at Metro Music Hall

Both bands with new music you’ve heard on X96 if you’ve been paying attention. This is a 21+ show.

• Greta Van Fleet at The Union Event Center

Yeah, we know, they sound exactly like Led Zepplin, but Led Zepplin happened a long time ago. Besides, your criticism doesn’t matter as this show has been sold out for a while. Tickets on the classifieds are going for as much as $100 a ticket.

• Rock N Ribs at The Gallivan Center

For 29 years there have been ribs and rock put in near proximity to each other at the Gallivan Center. Many of Utah’s greatest BBQ vendors will be offering $3 sample plates (among their other flame-grilled favorites) so you can try a little of everything! We’ll also have kid-friendly activities and live music all day! Admission is free.

• Gary Numan at The Depot

Come experience a night with Gary Numan when his Second Savage North American Tour with guests Nightmare Air stops at The Depot September 29th! 21+ show.

• Japanese Food Bazaar at Sale Lake Buddist Temple

I like food. You like food. What else is there to know?

• Kiitos 1 Year Anniversary

It seems like only 1 year ago I was there for their grand opening. Go figure! Kiitos Brewing will be 1 year old and we would love to celebrate with everyone. We will be fencing off the parking lot for food, fun, and drinks outside, as well as opening up the warehouse to the public. Our friends at Lucky Slice Pizza will be selling pies and also giving out one free slice of pizza to all guests, and Social Axe Throwing will be bringing their mobile unit for some good ol’ axe throwing fun. Many other games like corn hole, darts, spike ball, et cetera. Karaoke in the warehouse for those brave souls that live to sing in front of others. 4 new beers will be released for this event! Come and play with us, and raise a glass to give thanks to craft brews!

• The Lantern Fest at Utah Motorsports Park

Have you ever wanted to break a record? Good. Here’s your chance.

•4th West Oktoberfest at Hard West Cider

In conjunction with Red Rock Brewing, this fall celebration of our 4th West Oktoberfest! WhatThis 2-day festival features live music from local artists, local Salt Lake Valley food trucks, Utah vendors, and fun for the whole family. Games will include giant Jenga, corn hole, a children’s craft tent, ring toss, and much more! Enjoy the music, the eats, and all over fun with natural, gluten-free ciders from Mountain West Hard Cider and high-quality craft beers from Red Rock Brewery.

•The Presets at Metro Music Hall

Austrailian indie-EDM duo returns to Utah on their HI VIZ tour and I’ve never been happier to have a Sunday night off. This is my best concert of the week pick, hands down.

•Black Lagoon Day at Lagoon

Black Lagoon Day has returned. Join us at Lagoon/Frightmares Sunday, September 30th. It is the one day of the year where all of the Goths, Rivetheads, freaks, friends, and family come out for a day of fun at Utah’s best amusement park. They have reserved Willow Terrace as our home base for the day.

•Yungblud at Kilby Court

Yeah, he just played the Big Ass Show, but maybe you had to work that day. Yungblud is back at Salt Lake’s favorite all-ages venue.

•The Wombats at The Complex

With Yungblud at Kilby Court, it seems Tuesday is a small British Invasion. Straight outta Liverpool and straight into the west side of Salt Lake.

•The Boxer Rebellion at Urban Lounge

Named after a cornerstone of Chinese history, yet another English band (with one American member) is in town this Tuesday night at Urban Lounge for this 21+ show.
