
Outspoken World Cup star Megan Rapinoe has been named Sports Illustrated’s 2019 Sportsperson Of The Year. SI announced the pick on Monday, tweeting that “She owned the biggest moment of her life and silenced all the doubters, all while becoming a voice for so many across the world”. Rapinoe is the fourth woman ever to be named SI Sportsperson of the Year, joining Chris Evert, Mary Decker, and Serena Williams.
