NASA wants to make sure its astronauts are well-fed – and they need your help.
The agency has launched the Deep Space Food Challenge, a competition seeking ideas to help grow sustainable food in space – with over $500,000 in prize money is up for grabs.
We are all looking for access to nutritious food that prepares quickly. Even astronauts.
Food productions systems benefit people on Earth as well as deep space missions. Got an idea that could help? Join @NASA and @csa_asc's Deep Space Food Challenge. https://t.co/P0yowRAhNg

Previous NASA challenges included last year’s ‘Lunar Loo Challenge’ where the public helped come up with ideas for a high-tech toilet for the International Space Station.
Do you think humans will ever travel to Mars or beyond? Could you endure being stuck on a spaceship for months at a time?
