But why did Natural Light choose a 77-pack? Most beers come in 6, 12, and 24 packs, while occasionally in 15, 18, and 30 cases. Even more so, the odd number makes fitting into a box a bit of a problem.

Turns out the Anheuser-Busch-produced suds hit stores in 1977 and to make it all fit, they developed a hexagonal shaped box weighing in at 65 pounds to bring it all home.
Unfortunately for the true Natty-Light connoisseur, the special cases are only sold in College Park, MD. But for the beer company, that town just happens to be the home of the University of Maryland.
