Amid hopeful news that the spread of COVID-19 is slowing in other parts of the world, Gov. Andrew Cuomo shared somber news out of New York Wednesday – his state’s largest single-day death toll. 779 coronavirus-related deaths – the second record-breaking day in a row. The uptick followed a few days of flat numbers. “The news isn’t just bad, the news is actually terrible,” The Washington Examiner reports Gov. Cuomo said. “That death toll probably will be this high, or near this high, or even higher, for the next several days.” New York’s death toll now sits at 6,268. Flags are flying at half-staff in their memory.
