Pei Wei is on a mission to be totally transparent and healthy about the fast Chinese food that they serve. They want other restaurants to be forced to do the same so they challenged their rival Panda Express to release the ingredients to their most popular Orange Chicken dish. Panda Express never replied so the folks at Pei Wei did their own research. The results include uncooked, battered frozen dark meat chicken chunks with binders added, high fructose corn syrup, potassium chloride, sodium benzoate, disodium guanylate, guar gum, nonfat dry milk, dried whole eggs, and disodium inosinate.
They posted the ingredient list to their twitter account.
Welp, 15 days later @pandaexpress won’t release what’s in their orange chicken… Looks like I’ll just have to do it for them.
