Some Trendy Cocktails Can Be Dangerous

While that trendy cocktail whipped up by your favorite watering hole’s resident mixologist might look great on Instagram, it could actually be dangerous. So says TODAY. A Moscow Mule may be a potential problem according to a report from the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division, who notes that pure copper cups are not a good choice. But as long as it’s lined with some other metal that keeps the copper from the alcohol, you should be fine. A drink containing Bergamot might taste great, but if it comes in contact with skin and is then exposed to sunlight, it could cause burns and blisters. Avoid drinks containing activated charcoal, they can actually make any medications you’re taking less effective thanks to its absorbent properties.
