Students from one high school in Florida and beyond are livid over a slut-shaming flier telling them what’s too hot to wear to the prom. The flier posted Monday in the hallway of Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville offered guidelines for female students ahead of the school’s big dance, complete with pictures of four dresses and accompanying commentary. “Going to Stanton Prom? Yes you are,” one caption read beneath an image of a student wearing a form-fitting mermaid-style dress. “Good girl.” Three other photos on the flier showing more revealing dresses, including those with a high slit and a low-cut back, were captioned: “Going to Stanton Prom? No you’re not.” Officials from Duval County Public Schools apologized for the display of the photos on Tuesday, saying they were not appropriate or approved policy and that they had been removed. “Both students and staff have been informed this was not acceptable or appropriate guidance for prom dress attire,” Duval County Public Schools spokeswoman Laureen Ricks confirmed to The Post in an email. But the apology came well after Twitter erupted with tweets from students at the school and elsewhere using the hashtag #SCPGoodGirl. One user noted that the college prep school empowered young women for a “future where they can do whatever they want” yet provided unneeded guidance on how to dress. One student at the school noted that roughly two-thirds of the school’s National Merit Scholarship finalists were women.
Boner Candidate #2: WE WILL NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF THING AT THIS DANCE
Amy Peterson is a single mother who said she’d do anything for her 6-year-old daughter Gracie. So, when it came time for the annual father-daughter dance at her child’s school, Locust Grove Elementary, Peterson did just that. Peterson thought it would be memorable if she dressed up as a dad and take her daughter, but she didn’t even make it inside. The mom said she was barred from the dance after school leaders said she wasn’t a man. On Monday, she told 11Alive’s Deborah Tuff that it’s a memory that will always be etched in her and her daughter’s memories. “I was trying to comply with the rules,” Peterson told 11Alive. “I knew if I showed up as her mom, they probably wouldn’t have let me in.” Instead, Peterson donned mascara for a beard – she watched tutorials online so she could master the effect – and clothes larger than her regular size. She even topped off the look with cologne. But when Peterson and Gracie, who was dressed in her Sunday’s best, were getting ready to head out for the dance, she got an unexpected phone call. “An hour before the school principal called, saying she caught rumor that her (Gracie’s) mother was bringing her and she forbid us to come, and if we showed up we would be turned away,” Peterson said.

A Florida woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend Tuesday told police “don’t worry” about his blood-soaked body. Police arrived to the Orlando apartment on Tuesday night to find Everett Leslie Humble, 63, bloody and unresponsive on the porch, the Orlando Sentinel reported. He had been shot multiple times and was declared dead at the scene. His girlfriend, Paula Lynn Hobbs, was at the apartment when police arrived and wouldn’t comply with officers. According to police, when asked what happened, Hobbs told them “don’t worry about it.” Hobbs, 51, then reportedly locked herself inside the apartment with her live-in boyfriend’s body. Police said she eventually surrendered and allowed them inside the home. “If you tell me he is dead, I will tell you why I did it.” Hobbs said, according to the police report. According to WPXI, a .22-caliber revolver was recovered in a drawer at the couple’s apartment. Police arrested Hobbs and booked her at Orange County Jail, where she is being held without bail. She has been charged with first-degree murder.

A local mother is outraged after her 5-year-old daughter was suspended from school because of a stick that resembled a gun. Caitlin Miller returned to school Tuesday after her one-day suspension. It started Friday when her mother got a call from the principal about a playground incident. Caitlin explained that she and her two friends were using their imaginations, playing “King and Queen.” In this case, Caitlin was the guard protecting the royals and picked up the gun to imitate shooting an intruder into the kingdom. Hoke County Schools said Caitlin posed a threat to other students when she made a shooting motion, thus violating policy 4331.”Hoke County Schools will not tolerate assaults, threats or harassment from any student. Any student engaging in such behavior will be removed from the classroom or school environment for as long as is necessary to provide a safe and orderly environment for learning,” the school system says. While Caitlin’s mother says she understands the school’s policy on the matter, explaining it to her 5-year-old was a different story. “We know why it’s bad. We watch the news, but then I have to tell my kid you’re not allowed to play like that in school because people do bad things to kids your age,” Brandy Miller said. Miller says Caitlin was alienated by her friends and teachers as a result of the suspension. She hopes that the school will issue some sort of apology to her daughter. Hoke County School Superintendent Freddie Williamson is aware of the incident.
Boner Candidate #6: HEY, WHAT’S THAT UGLY BUG THERE ON YOUR LEG?
Police are searching for the thieves who tricked a man and picked his pocket at a grocery store. Surveillance cameras captured the two robbers stealing thousands of dollars from the 68-year-old man at a southeast side Kroger. “It just happened that quick,” said robbery victim David Griffin. Investigators say the two robbers worked as a team. One robber was a distraction and supposedly told Griffin he had a bug on his pant leg. When Griffin leaned over to look at his leg, the other robber swiped an envelope full of cash from his jacket pocket. “They were too smooth about it, it’s like they had it planned for weeks,” said Griffin. Surveillance camera footage shows Griffin’s wife, Vickie, next to the robbers in the frozen food section. She saw the crime happen and chased after one of them. “I had my hands on him. I put his arm behind his back and tried to get him to the service desk, but he got away from me,” she said. The envelope had nearly $3,000 in cash; the Griffins had the money because they were out shopping for home renovation supplies. They are in the process of moving, and depend on every dollar. “I am a cancer patient, four-stage cancer, and there are lots of medicines and food that I have to have special, so I was upset,” said Vickie. Police believe this isn’t the first or last time these robbers have used this plan. “This wouldn’t be surprising if they tried to do it again because they found they were successful so why not go out there and try it again,” said Officer Jim Gillespie with IMPD.
