The Black Keys Return with First Song in Five Years

After a 5 year absence, The Black Keys have released a new single called “Lo/Hi.”

The Black Keys have released eight studio albums so far, but this is the first taste of new music from the band since 2014’s Turn Blue album. Both bandmates have made separate efforts since 2014; Dan Auerbach released a solo LP while the band was on hiatus. Drummer Patrick Carney will release Akron, Ohio next month with a side project. The band announced “Lo/Hi” Thursday morning on Twitter. So far social media seems to dig the tune; many fans are comparing “Lo/Hi” to the sounds of their earliest work. Both Auerbach and Carney wrote and produced the song and recorded it in Auerbach’s Nashville studio.

There’s currently no word on an album or tour.
