Boner Candidate #1: HER CLUELESSNESS IS A BONER AND IT MAKES ME SAD
About two weeks after a grisly shooting in a Pittsburgh suburb, Wendy Bell, a local news anchor for WTAE-TV, wrote a public Facebook post that focused in part on finding hope and offering kindness. But before the offering kindness part, she swerved into racial commentary that led to her being fired on Wednesday. She was responding to a shooting at a backyard party on March 9 in Wilkinsburg, Pa., that killed five people, including a pregnant woman. No one has been arrested, and the police have not yet publicly identified suspects. Yet in her Facebook post on March 21, which was later edited and eventually deleted, Ms. Bell played detective in a way that some felt relied on damaging stereotypes.
Boner Candidate #2: A POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE TRAINING EXERCISE
Last week, the Washington Post reports, the CIA forgot that it had placed “explosive training material” under the hood of a Loudoun County, Virginia, school bus. The bus took students to and from school on Monday and Tuesday this week—the material still hidden in the engine compartment. Officials said that the material had been used in a training exercise involving explosives-detecting dogs at Briar Woods High School over spring break. In a statement, the CIA said that the material “did not post a danger to passengers on the bus.” A technician found the explosive material during a routine maintenance on Wednesday.
Boner Candidate #3: THEY GROW UP SO FAST
This kid’s birthday bash looked more like a bachelor party. Grainy YouTube video shows a stripper shaking her booty for a boy celebrating his eighth birthday. One youngster is seen smacking the dancer’s backside, and another makes it rain dollar bills, during the age-inappropriate bash in Tampa, Fla. Tampa cops received calls about the video last week, but cops didn’t act because nothing in the footage conclusively shows when and where the X-rated party happened, a department spokeswoman told The Post. Reps for the nearby Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department said they were not aware of the footage.
