Leonardo DiCaprio, please be smarter than this
In an interview with The Guardian, screenwriter David Franzoni (best known for co-writing Gladiator) talked up a film he’s writing about the Persian poet and scholar Rumi, one of the most often translated and widely read poets in history. He’s sometimes called the “Shakespeare of the Middle East” which is backwards because he precedes Shakespeare by a few centuries. Really it should be that Shakespeare is the Rumi of the West. But, as Franzoni points out, he’s the kind of towering literary figure, like Shakespeare, that remains interesting to people because of the scope of his genius. He’s a ripe cinematic subject.

THE REAL REASON GIGI AND ZAYN (BRIEFLY) BROKE UP
Our long national nightmare is over, minions. Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are where they should be: back together. At least, as of now. Friends close to the beautiful pair say that could change faster than you can say, Can I have Harry’s number instead? “They broke up and got back together almost right away. Right now, it’s back on, but it could be off again in an hour,” tattles a friend. “They are young and keep going back and forth. Things are testy between them.”
SELENA GOMEZ AND CHRIS ROCK’S SHADE HISTORY GOES BACK FARTHER THAN YOU THINK
Chris Rock is definitely no stranger to throwing shade and speaking his mind — his 2016 Oscars monologue proved that — but his recent slam of Selena Gomez is stirring the pot on Twitter. On Tuesday (June 7), Rock basically joked Gomez was the poor man’ s Beyoncé, and Selenators had a hard time keeping their
hands opinions to themselves after seeing their “kween” dissed in such a way.
Ed Sheeran Sued For $20 Million For Allegedly Plagiarizing ‘Photograph’
We’re just thinking out loud here, but maybe Ed Sheeran should tread lightly when it comes to songwriting in the future. The English musician, who happens to be BFFs with Taylor Swift, is reportedly being sued for $20 million dollars over his song “Photograph,” according to Billboard. Songwriters Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard and their publishing company claim the song borrows heavily from their track, “Amazing,” which was released as a single by 2010 “X Factor” winner Matt Cardle. Harrington and Leonard have written hits for some of the industry’s biggest stars, including Kylie Minogue.

David Letterman Calls Donald Trump ‘Repugnant to People … He’s Despicable’
David Letterman has made plenty of political jokes in his day, but the former Late Show host is getting serious about presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. “I understand that he’s repugnant to people,” Letterman tells Tom Brokaw in a candid interview for Dateline NBC’s On Assignment. He continues, “The men putting together the Constitution, witnessing this election, wouldn’t they have just said, ‘That’s part of the way we set it up. Good luck’?”
Justin Bieber Tackled To The Ground In Massive Fist Fight Outside Cleveland Hotel (UPDATE)
Justin Bieber shared two black-and-white photos of himself post-brawl on Instagram to let his followers know that his moneymaker is still in tact. The two photos, which could double as a fashion campaign (I lose fights in #My Calvins), feature a pouty Bieber staring directly into the camera and giving us some catalog model 101 vibes. “Not a scratch on this pretty boy,” he wrote alongside the first photo (which Huff Post screenshot before he deleted it) while leaving the other pic captionless. At 30, Ferris Bueller is still our hero
“Life moves pretty fast,” says Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) in John Hughes’ 1986 comedy about a high school kid who pulls the ultimate sick day. “If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Relevant as ever, Hughes’ near-perfect fourth film introduced film techniques and characters that would spawn countless imitators. Here are ten “Ferris Bueller” moments to remember as the movie turns the big three-oh today.
‘FINDING DORY’ Cash Cow for Fish Stores …DEADLY FOR THE FISH
Disney’s “Finding Dory” is causing a rift in the exotic fish community … which believes the movie could bring a financial boom — but also massacre the fish population. We called a bunch of fish dealers who say they’ve stocked up on blue tangs — Dory’s species — expecting a rush once the movie premieres. The same spike happened for clown fish after “Finding Nemo.” Tangs ain’t cheap — one goes for $40 to $60 … So there’s big money to be made.

In a book filled with explicit stories of sex, drugs and violence, Bobby Brown‘s memoir includes allegations about the late Whitney Houston ranging from smoking pot with their then-teenage daughter to having an affair with Tupac Shakur.
