Prince died from an overdose of fentanyl, according to a report released by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office on Thursday. Fentanyl is a synthetic opiate that is about 80 times more potent than morphine and hundreds of times more potent than heroin, according to the CDC. PREVIOUSLY: According to a law enforcement official close to the investigation behind Prince’s death, the singer reportedly died of an opioid overdose. The Associated Press was the first to report the news, saying the official “spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.”

The Star Wars fan community was recently thrown for a loop when it was revealed that this December’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would be undergoing reshoots over the summer. Miranda will leave the cast of the musical after its July 9 performance to work on numerous other projects. His exit will come less than a month after the Tony Awards. The show has been nominated for a record 16 awards. Miranda, himself, is up for three: for the book, score and his role as leading actor in a musical.

Johnny Depp’s assistant, Stephen Deuters, tells TMZ, the texts that were posted in which he allegedly apologized to Amber Heard for Johnny’s violent behavior are heavily doctored … and he never said Johnny attacked her. Deuters says he knows of no acts of abuse toward Amber at the hands of Johnny and has never made such a claim to anyone. He adds, Johnny has never been violent toward anyone he knows. Authorities say no charges will be filed against one of the twin-brother stars of HGTV’s “Property Brothers” following an incident at a North Dakota bar. According to a police report, Jonathan Scott repeatedly refused to leave the Fargo bar at closing time early on the morning of April 24. A bar staffer told police that Scott said, “Do you know who I am?” when asked to hand over his drink. Security camera footage shows Scott resisting bar staff while being escorted out. The video shows Scott returning before being physically removed again.
Ex-Destiny’s Child member arrested for public intoxication
Farrah Franklin, whose claim to fame is a one-year stint in Destiny’s Child from 1999 to 2000, is back in trouble with the law. The former singer was arrested in Dekalb County, Georgia, on Thursday for public intoxication and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, according to police records. Per TMZ, Franklin, 35, was outside a gym when she got into an argument with a male friend around 3 a.m. Thursday.

A New Jersey high-school principal was suspended for allowing rapper Fetty Wap to film a racy music video at the star’s alma mater in Paterson, officials said. Eastside HS Principal Zatiti Moody has been placed on leave for failing to follow procedures in allowing Fetty, who dropped out of the school, to film there. Superintendent Donnie Evans announced the decision at a school board meeting Wednesday. Moody could not be immediately reached for comment Thursday.
