Alden Ehrenreich is your next Han Solo

It was the worst-kept secret in Hollywood: Alden Ehrenreich, an actor best known for playing an actor playing a cowboy, has been tapped to play young Han Solo. Ehrenreich’s role as Solo in an untitled Star Wars spinoff movie, which starts filming early next year, was confirmed Sunday at Star Wars Celebration in London’s giant ExCel center.”He was literally the first person to audition,” said Phil Lord, who is directing the Solo project alongside his Lego Movie co-director Chris Miller. Ehrenreich apparently clinched the role when he was photographed on the set of the Millennium Falcon next to an actor playing Chewbacca, Lord and Miller revealed. (They didn’t reveal whether their younger Chewie would be played by old hand Peter Mayhew.)

Kim and Kanye: No Prosecution for Secret Recording … Taylor Knew People Were Listening

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will not face criminal prosecution for the secret recording in which Taylor hears all about the song “Famous” … because she had NO expectation of privacy. TMZ broke the story, Taylor’s lawyer threatened Kanye with prosecution for taping the call and Taylor Swift has been mulling over the option of filing a police report. Here’s the problem … in California, if someone records a “confidential communication” and the other party to the conversation doesn’t know it’s being taped, it’s a crime. But “confidential communication” does not include conversations that “may be overheard.” We’ve heard the full tape … and Taylor knew she was overheard. The conversation from Kanye’s end was on speaker phone, and during the call producer Rick Rubin speaks up several times. Members of the crew filming Kanye on the call also speak in the room. There’s no doubt listening to the full tape … Taylor knew she was being overheard. As a result, it’s pretty clear … Kanye didn’t violate the law by recording it.

Guns N’ Roses detained at Canadian border for gun

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose revealed the band was detained at the Canadian border for having a gun on their tour bus. “They were very nice,” the singer said of border agents to the 50,000-person crowd at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Saturday night. “They were very understanding. You know, it happens — you can forget you had a f—–g gun,” he said, adding it was not his gun. The band’s rep confirmed the incident to Billboard. “Yes, this indeed happened on Friday, July 15, as they were crossing the border coming from the Philadelphia tour stop on the 14th.” This wasn’t the first time the rock band had trouble crossing the border into Canada because of a gun. Rose told Spin in 1988, according to Billboard, “This year, I was only arrested once at the Canadian border, for my stun gun. I didn’t know they’re illegal there.”

Nick Young finally confirms he’s expecting baby with ex-girlfriend

Maury Povich is one step away from getting involved in Nick Young‘s family drama. The NBA star finally confirmed he and ex-girlfriend Keona Green are expecting baby No. 2. “Yeah,” the Lakers guard chuckled to reporters at the RISE basketball event in Los Angeles on Saturday, according to People. Young, 31, who shares 4-year-old son Nick Jr. with Green, 30, hadn’t publicly commented on reports he impregnated his former gal pal. While single mom Green told Us Weekly she was “200 percent” sure her unborn daughter was Young’s, the unexpected pregnancy didn’t factor in to his split with Iggy Azalea. “I have never even been told by Nick that his baby mother is pregnant, so if this is true I’m finding out via E News,” the 26-year-old singer tweeted. “This is just like a second shot to the chest. And I feel like I don’t even know who the hell it is I’ve been loving all this time.”

Oh No! The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Delay Is Way Worse Than We Thought

Winter is here, and it’s killing us. We already heard that “Game of Thrones” production was going to be delayed for colder weather, but oh, sweet summer child, this is worse than anyone thought. In a new press release, HBO confirms Season 7 will be only seven episodes, and instead of the usual spring premiere, next season won’t debut until Summer 2017. The news is surprising because it means “Game of Thrones” might be taking itself out of contention for the 2017 Emmy Awards. Typically, Emmy eligible episodes need to air before May 31, so if the show debuts in the summer ― which begins June 21, 2017 ― it will miss the cutoff. (Also, what are we going to do with our lives?)

Matt Damon Has Only 25 Lines of Dialogue in ‘Jason Bourne’

The news that Matt Damon apparently only speaks about 25 lines of dialogue in the upcoming Jason Bourne isn’t completely out of the ordinary. Heroes who speak little and let their actions do the talking for them have been staples ever since Clint Eastwood put on a cowboy hat and squinted his eyes at the desert heat. So just go ahead and consider this your cool trivia of the day. This news comes from a new profile in The Guardian (via The Playlist), where it was revealed that the decision to have Bourne speak so little in his fourth big screen outing had less to do with Damon suddenly deciding that he doesn’t want to talk and more to do with everyone agreeing that it was the right choice for the character at this point in his existence.
