New Predator Movie Gets Release Date
There’s a new Predator movie on the way, and thankfully, it’s not a reboot. The latest installment, possibly called The Predator has been described by director and co-writer Shane Black as “an inventive sequel” so that’s good. So what if none of the sequels lived up to the promise of the original? This one has a creative team that gives it the best chance to hit the mark.
Deadpool & X-Men crossover won’t be happening just yet
Given the sizeable success that the Deadpool movie is enjoying, it’s a surprise to nobody that Deadpool 2 is already in the works at Fox. The writers and executive producers of the first film, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, are involved. But the pair have suggested that a broader crossover into the X-Men movie universe is a little way off yet.
Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones to play Iron Fist
Marvel has found its newest superhero: Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones has landed the coveted series lead in Iron Fist. Jones, who plays Ser Loras Tyrell on the HBO hit, will take on the role of the martial arts master in the upcoming Netflix series, EW has learned.
Nicholas Meyer Joins New Star Trek Series
It’s official. Bryan Fuller, who will co-create, produce and serve as showrunner of the upcoming Star Trek series, has just announced the news that Nicholas Meyer has joined the show’s writing staff and will be a consulting producer. –
J.J. Abrams: Star Wars Will Include Gay Characters, Get Over It
Star Wars will be an inclusive franchise and its future will include gay characters, according to J.J. Abrams, speaking earlier this week at the Oscar Wilde awards at Bad Robot Productions. The Daily Beast noted that as The Force Awakens has been the first film in the franchise to utilize a black lead, Abrams’ plans for inclusivity also extend to homosexual characters as well. “When I talk about inclusivity it’s not excluding gay characters. It’s about inclusivity. So of course.”
Michael K. Williams Confirms Certain ‘Ghostbusters’ Character Returning in Paul Feig’s Reboot
Even though we already know that this summer’s reboot of Ghostbusters will feature cameos from the surviving members of the original paranormal exterminating team, along with several of the co-stars, we also know that they won’t be playing their characters from the original franchise. However, co-star Michael K. Williams has confirmed that at least one character from the original films will be returning, because he actually shot a scene with this character.
