TV Line reports actress Katie McGrath (Merlin) has joined the series as Lena Luthor, who will be running Luthor Corp. in the s-verse. It seems Lex is already a famous supervillain, so Lena has been tasked with re-branding the billion-dollar Luthor Corp. empire as “a force for good.” She’ll come into play this season once Kara is roped into Lena’s world, and Supergirl must determine whether she can be trusted.

The previous season of The CW’s original comic book series was undeniably shaky, as fans grew steadily disappointed with story arcs like Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) relationship, Damien Darhk’s (Neal McDonough) campaign to control Star City, and Laurel Lance’s (Katie Cassidy) shocking death. But it seems the show has learned from it and is set to do go back to what made it popular in the first place.
