*This calendar is mostly accurate. probably!

•Crucialfest 7

Kicking off today and running through September 3rd! From STRFRK (who I highly recommend) to Minus the Bear to King Dude, Utah’s Beachmen and a lot more in various venues in Salt Lake. If you just love to see live music, this is two days of Christmas. You do not want to miss this. It’s the closest we have to a music festival in downtown Salt Lake!

•The Roots at Twilight Concert Series

It’s over! The summer is dead. It’s the final Twilight. Get a pumpkin-spice high colonic and put that sweater on! The Roots and Charles Bradley and His Extraordinary Band close out the 2017 Twilight Concert Series and I suspect it will be the most crowded of the season, so get there early if you want to see the stars. You know The Roots from “The Seed 2.0” and your mom knows them from “that nice man, Jimmy’s show.” A time for all. Get your mum loaded up on Bud Lite and 2nd high lifted.

•ZZ Top at Red Butte

Women used to love a sharp dressed man. Well, it’s 2017 and after extensive polling, women like a well-coiffed man. How about them times and how they change? Anyway, the bearded ones meet the BYOB crowd at Red Butte. Get your legs and get there early. Better yet, hit the classified because this is sold out. The only shows not sold out are Haim (because they suck) and Gov’t Mule.

•University of Utah vs. North Dakota at Rice Eccles Stadium

It’s actually the first day of tailgating. Put down that protractor and copy of “Ethan Frome” and get out to see your uncle who lied about going to the U puke in a parking lot after down 3 brats, 7 High Life beer bongs, and 3 shots of Jager! I’m told some guys will be playing football at some point, too. I did hear an unsubstantiated rumor that if they U wins this game, tuition is half off this semester…if only. Hey, I can talk as much shit I want. I’m still paying on my student loans. GO UTES!

•The Austrailian Pink Floyd Show at USANA

I still don’t understand this, but 4 of my friends are going. I’ll go, but I am not sure I’ll understand it any better after. Pretty excited to hear “Money” on a didgeridoo. Don’t have time tonight? Good news! They are doing it all again tomorrow night!

•Cosplay for a Cause at Piper Down

Karaoke and cosplay. NAILED IT! No mention of the cause, but that new rooftop patio is amazing! 21+

•Annual Summer Portrait Event at The Humane Society of Utah

Does sparky need a head shot? Hell yeah, he does! Grab your furry friends and head over to the Humane Society of Utah for a special summer-themed portrait courtesy of The Photobox Photography Studio. Going on today and tomorrow, by making a $25 donation you’ll get a 10 minutes sesh and a one 8×10 on the spot (because we live in the future).

•17 Annual Magna Car Show and Picnic

Cars and food. Come join us Labor Day for an awesome show with over 500 vehicles last year. Awards, prizes, food, and fun. Entry Fee is $20.00 per vehicle which includes a T-shirt.

•No-Name Chili Fest at Snowbasin

Sure, 90 degrees doesn’t sound child-friendly, but it won’t be that warm at Snowbasin. Plus it’s pretty much fall and your Cock Pot is going to start calling, so it’s best you get your ideas early. Join us for this food drive event for the Utah Food Bank. The Snowbasin Resort culinary team will make batches of their own personal chilis for guests to sample, taste and vote on. the winning chili will be served all year long at John Paul Lodge for the 2017-2018 winter season. All ages are welcome, with kids activities and games. Includes free live music from The Outer Vibe. $15 admission or $13 with a food donation.  Bring as many food donations as you can and help us reach our goal to fill a whole gondola!

•Pat Benatar and Toto at Kenley Amphitheater

Yes, love is a battlefield and so are the rains in Africa. Get a taste of both in Davis County!

There’s always more on our YUGE calendar.
