A PSYCHEDELIC HALLOWEEN W/ SUPERBUBBLE AND THE DOORS TRIBUTE BAND – BREAK ON THROUGH. OCTOBER 31ST. 21+ EVENT
*This calendar is mostly accurate. probably!
• Goo Goo Dolls at The Depot
You know them because we play them and we have been for a long time! It’ll be a splendid sing-a-long.
• 3OH!3 at The Depot
Joined by Emo Nite (a band, not the evening’s theme) for The Want House Party Tour, with Lil Aaron in town because if you don’t have a “Lil” in the lineup, you don’t have enough these days.
• Of Montreal at Metro Music Hall
I’ve honestly never seen anything as spectacular as this band like aside from maybe Empire of the Sun. A psycho-pop infused evening awaits and is not to be missed. This is probably my pick of the week as far as concerts are concerned. If you like STRFKR, The Doors, The Turtles, etc…you need to go to this show.
• The Alarm at The Commonwealth Room
One of Salt Lake’s newest music venues (195 W 2100 S) hosts Welsh, 80’s music icons.
• SLC Shred Fest at Liberty Park
Milosport presents SLC Shred Fest 3.0 with Ski and snowboard rail jam, Lumberjack competition, Live music by Neon Indian, Greenmont, and DJ Matty Mo, food truck face-off, beer garden by Uinta and Bud Light, pro appearances. This is an all-inclusive, all-ages event benefitting the National Ability Center, Utah Avalanche Center, and Team Utah.
• Ghostbusters in Concert at The Utah Symphony
Hear the Utah Symphony perform Elmer Bernstein’s iconic score live as the entire film Ghostbusters plays on the big screen as part of the films 35th-anniversary celebration. FanX will be sponsoring a costume contest with awesome prizes in the lobby prior to the concert.
• mewithoutyou at Metro Music Hall
Indie music. Philly made.
• Lily Allen at The Complex
Reek’s older sister hit the big-time long before he fell far from the Iron Throne. He even wrote a song about the time he spent in his room. She is quite amazing and you should go see her.
• Thrice at The Complex
Thrice is bringing along The Bronx to make this the best Tuesday of the year.
• General Election
You need to vote. It’s your civic duty and your mother would want you to. We have a lot to think about aside our reps this year such medical marijuana, higher gas tax for education, redistricting issues, and more.
